Starless Umbra

Amalia and Clydan find themselves in a mine shaft deep within the colony of Tulron. The goal of this challenge is to get the most coins in one run.

## How To Play

Upon starting the challenge, inspect the mine cart to the right. After a short scene, the challenge begins.

## Controls

- Arrow keys - move around
- Space, X - jump

These can be configured in the Settings menu.

### Synopsis

Starless Umbra is an Action JRPG where you play as Amalia, a tracker from the orphan colony of Tulron, as she discovers the veiled world of Alcuria in search of her friends.

### Features

- Real-time, action-based combat, inspired by modern JRPGs such as Xenoblade Chronicles and Final Fantasy 7: Remake
- Skill augments and equipments to customize your playable characters
- Multiplayer support (couch co-op)
- Dungeons littered with minigames and puzzles

This demo includes the first major chunk of gameplay (roughly 2-3 hours to complete). Some combat systems are not yet implemented or completely polished.

### Default Controls

- **Arrow Keys** - Move
- **Z** - Cancel, Open Menu
- **X** - Confirm, Interact
- **W, A, S, D** - Use skills
- **Tab** - Change Target
- **C** - Change character

These may be changed from the **Settings** menu.

### Important Notes

1. Save files from previous versions are incompatible.
2. Users have reported save data sometimes disappearing. I have no idea when/how opera gx clears the game storage, or where it even lives. I highly recommend downloading the windows version for additional features (improved performance, 144hz, more robust saving)
3. This is a solo project years away from completion. If you'd like to support my efforts and get early access to the game's second act, please consider supporting me on discord or kofi.
